Family History

Our next stop was to the house on South Hatton. This is the house that Grandma grew up in. When she lived there, it had a covered porch on the front. When the hurricane hit New Orleans when I was a baby, Mom and Dad came to Grandmommies house and set me on the front porch and rang the doorbell. Grandmommy answered and said there was a baby on the porch! I vaguely remember a swing set in the backyard and getting stung by a bee when I was very young. I remember coming in the house, and the kitchen being in the back, and sitting on the kitchen counter while someone put medicine on my bee sting!! I also vaguely remember coloring a picture while Grandmommy and Mom were talking.
This is the garage behind the house. I don't remember this at all when I was growing up, but I know it was there because Mom said that Grandaddy built it. The people that live there now live in this garage. It is uncertain as to whether anyone is currently living in the house. When we went to visit on our trip, I got out to take pictures of the house and the cutest, sweetest, little puppy ran into the street and I picked her up. Her owner came out and we talked a while. I wish I had taken a picture of the sweet puppy also. He sure was a hyper little puppy!
